Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our website or services.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sibling Strong Initiative website, community platform, or any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify members of material changes via email or through our community platform.

Membership & Subscriptions

Sibling Strong Initiative offers membership subscriptions that provide access to our online community, resources, and events. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Membership fees are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your chosen plan)
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us directly
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused time
  • We reserve the right to change membership pricing with reasonable notice to existing members
  • Membership access is personal and non-transferable

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the applicable subscription fees.

User Conduct

Our community is built on mutual respect, empathy, and trust. When participating in our community platform, events, or retreats, you agree to:

  • Treat all community members with kindness, respect, and compassion
  • Maintain the confidentiality of personal stories and experiences shared by other members
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or any form of abusive behavior
  • Not share or distribute content from the community without the author's explicit permission
  • Not use the community to promote products, services, or solicit members for any commercial purpose
  • Report any concerning behavior to the Sibling Strong team

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the membership of anyone who violates these community standards, at our sole discretion, without refund.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Sibling Strong Initiative website — including but not limited to text, articles, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, and software — is the property of Sibling Strong Initiative or its content creators and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or publicly display any of our content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use as intended by the services.

Content you post within the community platform remains yours. However, by posting content you grant Sibling Strong Initiative a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the context of operating and promoting our community.

Retreat Liability Waiver

Participation in Sibling Strong Initiative retreats involves outdoor activities and adventure experiences that carry inherent risks, including but not limited to hiking, camping, and other nature-based activities.

By registering for a retreat, you acknowledge that:

  • You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in retreat activities
  • You are physically able to participate in the planned activities and will disclose any relevant medical conditions
  • Sibling Strong Initiative, its founders, staff, and volunteers are not liable for any injury, illness, property damage, or loss arising from retreat participation
  • A separate, detailed liability waiver must be signed prior to attending any retreat

Retreat registrations are subject to a cancellation policy that will be provided at the time of booking. Refund availability depends on the timing of your cancellation relative to the retreat date.

Limitation of Liability

Sibling Strong Initiative provides its website, community, and services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of our services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sibling Strong Initiative and its founders, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.

Our community offers peer support and connection — not professional mental health treatment. The content and interactions within our platform are not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or medical advice. If you are in crisis, please contact a mental health professional or call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

Termination

You may terminate your account and stop using our services at any time by canceling your membership and contacting us to request deletion of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine to be a violation of these Terms, harmful to other members, or otherwise inappropriate. In such cases, no refund will be issued for the current billing period.

Upon termination, your right to access the community and member-only content will cease immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — shall remain in effect.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable state.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
